AVG Internet Security Virus definition update not workiung anymore

I am using Internet Security since years and Virus definition update is defined to be done automatically which worked fine for a long time. Since a while the virus definition file update doesn't work anymore (while the app update itself is working properly). I get the alert that the VIRUS definition file is not up to date but when going through settings menu to start the searching for latest version the searching starts and the progress bar quickly goes from 0% to 100%. I get the info displayed that there is a new file avaiöable from today but I cannot install it. Repeating these steps doesnt help. Restart AVG neither. Also restart of the computer doesn't fix the problem. Internet connection is fine, no blocked pages or similar things which should be the reason for this problem as far as I can judge.

Any idea how to solve?

Hello Matthias,

We apologize for the inconvenience. We'll certainly look into this and help you.
First, please specify the operating system of your computer and the program version of your AVG Internet Security program.
Second, repair your AVG Internet Security program as mentioned in this article, restart your computer once and check if the issue persists.
Third, please make sure that there aren't any other antivirus software installed in your computer other than AVG Internet Security.

Thank you for your advises. I already checked all that before and I even tried to repair the app through the specific button in the app itself. This didn't work. When I trried to repair the app according the explanation in the link I received there was an error message that the app cannot be found. It seemed that the app was already deinstallated even it was still running.
So at the end I deleted the app from the list and reinstalled again. Now everything is working fine. No idea what the problem was.
