Please tell me how to stop advertisements appearing on the AVG Internet Security user interface.

At the moment AVG/Avast are trying to sell VPN to users, most of whom do not need it if they use sensible security security measures. Just stop it will you or provide a system to disable your adverts.

Hello, Mike.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. Many of our users find these offers useful. We handpick them from our own products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience. You can disable the ad pop ups appearing in system tray but the Secure VPN pop ad on AVG Internet Security interface can not be disabled.

However, we will take this as your valuable feedback and pass it up to our developers.

I have just installed Secure VPN, but I am confused, it said 60 Free Trial, yet when I logged in today it said tree trial expires in 29 days? I thought it would not expire till June, but it's looking more like the 19th of May, so I am really confused by this, do I got a 60 day trial or just 39 days?

You have AVG Secure VPN (60 days trial), which will expire on 6/20/2018. Could you share a screenshot of the AVG Secure VPN user Interface to assist you further?
You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Hello, I've recently started receiving an error message in regards to my product (owned since Jan) claiming that I have a License Error and that I need to re-enter a license in order for it to work again. However I own AVG Ulitmate which after re-checking the product states it doesn't require a license number. But because of this error message I can't even go into AVG to re-enter my log in details to attempt to override whatever is going on.

My father is also connected to the same AVG account and so far has had no issues with his own protection on his machine so i'm weary to mess around with stuff I don't fully understand if there's a chance it could mess up his protection too.

I'm not very tech savvy but you guys have helped me in the past with synching up my Father's protection so I'm hopeful this can be resolved fairly quickly.

Thanks in advance,

Chloe.

Hi Timo,

Are you looking for the confirmation email regarding the product which you purchased recently?
brian brianbrian brian
the previous years I have bought a licences for my three computers in each case there was nearly a month to go on the existing license so enter new licence number and the licence starts from today even though there is still a month to go on the licence this has happened everytime and must have lost  at least 6months. I have my email address and these products registered every time I try to log in I am refused when I eventually get logged in it shows no products purchased. I buy my products from a repuable reseller and get a sales code and avg gives me a licence code by return email, why do these products not show. At the moment I have six different licences on three computers

Everytime I use AVG it says flashing in red please renew your licence to keep your system protected even though there is nearly a month left. Is this so that I will renew early and therefore your profit margin will increase, do you not earn enough without being dishonest, dishonest yes that is what it is. Then its ok because having asked the question you dont tell me but PLEASE BE INFORMED .........has the tone of a n official court summons about it. No this does not make it ok and I am not PLEASED to be INFORMED this is a maketing ploy to make more profit. I do wonder how much profit has been made out of this. Hope you do not mind me reposting this on a few sites?

Hello!
I apologize in advance, I do not speak English, I use Google-translator.

AVG Antivirus Free was installed on the computer, tried to remove it using AVG Remover http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities

It is not deleted: in the task manager there are processes AVG Antivirus (32 bits), AVG Service (32 bits), AVG Software Analyzer.
Windows 10 x64

Tried using the system explorer to kill processes - it did not help.
I tried to remove it using Revo Unistaller, it also failed.

Can anyone come across this problem? Or who can tell how to remove this antivirus.

Hi All,
I recently had to have Windows 7 re-loaded on to my PC (64 bit replaced 32 bit) & subsequently also had to re-load AVG . Now I am unable to play music from my PC (in the past this was from iTunes, which I have also had to re-load).
I have checked my settings in both Windows & AVG firewalls, but still cannot get it to work.
Anyone out there have a solution?
Thanks in anticipation.

Hello, Bob.
Thank you for reaching us with your concerns. May I know if the issue is resolved when AVG protection is disabled? Right click on AVG system tray icon and toggle the On/Off slider to disable AVG protection.

Hi everybody
I am currently working on a benchmark of bootable Anti-Virus tools.
In order to make a ranking of the different solutions, I have some questions about AVG Rescue CD :

- Can this AV boot with UEFI? Or should I boot in legacy mode?
- Is this AV compatible with Bitlocker? Encrypted hard drive? (i.e. can I enter my decryption key in the AV tool in order to decrypt for scan)
- Which type of detection? Signature based, behavioural, uploaded on cloud ...
- Can I update this AV on another computer than the infected one?
- Do you have some figures on scan efficacity?
- How long did it take to make a scan? (in average)
- Does this AV scan only for viruses or it scans for other malwares (eg. rootkits, adware, spywares, ...)?

Thank you for you answers!

Hello Alexis,
Thank you for your patience.
AVG Rescue CD (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-use-AVG-Rescue-CD&supportType=home) is very old and not maintained so we recommend it's usage only if none of the other methods worked.
You can find your answers below:
- Can this AV boot with UEFI? Or should I boot in legacy mode?
-- Legacy mode should be used.
- Is this AV compatible with Bitlocker? Encrypted hard drive? (i.e. can I enter my decryption key in the AV tool in order to decrypt for scan).
-- It's not compatible.
- Which type of detection? Signature based, behavioral, uploaded on cloud.
-- Signature based.
- Can I update this Anti-Virus on another computer than the infected one?
-- Update files can be downloaded on any device but have to used on the device which is performing scan.
- Do you have some figures on scan efficacity?
-- The details we received was not enough for us to understand the quesion.
- How long did it take to make a scan? (in average).
-- Depends on number of files, HDD and CPU speeds - can be anywhere from few minutes to many hours.
- Does this AV scan only for viruses or it scans for other malwares (eg. rootkits, adware, spywares, ...)?
-- Everything is scanned, however e.g. rootkits may not be visible if OS is not running.
Best regards,
Alok.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to update my windows 10, but the updater detects 4 instances of AVG that prevent my updating. Even, after uninstalling and running AVG clear, it still detects 4 instances. Any advice?

Thank you for sharing the screenshot and appreciate your efforts, Matthew.
We'd request to search for "avastui.exe" or "avgui.exe" files on your hard disk, delete them if present, restart your computer and then try to update Windows.
